From September 10–20, the festival ignites the fall movie season, pushing the boundaries of cinema from biting comedies to gripping documentaries. Fanning Toronto’s deep-seeded passion for film, TIFF returns  for its 51st edition, headlining 2026’s most anticipated titles—including Alpha Gang, Babies, Always Lisa, Being Heumann, and Bleeding Hearts. The showcase spotlights Canadian films, featuring traditional filmmaking and contemporary elements to illuminate each film’s cultural impact and diverse perspectives.

The annual showcase reflects Toronto’s enduring love for the screen. Anchored by prestigious FIPRESCI, NETPAC, and Short Cuts categories, TIFF establishes itself as a launchpad for Academy Awards momentum. Beyond international promotion, it remains a dedicated platform for Canadian projects and international collaboration that unites creatives over a shared reverence for entertainment and film.
