The Standout Moments of FAT SS26

From May 25 to 31, Toronto hosted Fashion Art Toronto, Canada’s largest fashion week. Over seven days, more than 50 designers unveiled their Spring/Summer 2026 collections, transforming the city into a celebration of fashion, art, and creative expression.

This season’s theme, Show Yourself, encouraged designers to embrace individuality and present work that felt deeply personal. From experimental concepts to refined ready-to-wear, FAT SS26 once again demonstrated the breadth of Canada’s evolving fashion landscape.

Here are some of the collections that left a lasting impression.

Lakuachimoto

With Glossary, Lakuachimoto further developed the brand’s distinctive visual language through bold silhouettes, unexpected fabric combinations, and a balance between elegance and sport. Drawing inspiration from music, nature, and poetry, the collection felt both expressive and effortlessly contemporary.

Charles Lu

One of the highlights of opening night was the opportunity to see Charles Lu’s work on the runway. Known to many through Netflix’s Next in Fashion, the Canadian designer brought his signature combination of precise tailoring, technical construction, and understated sophistication to FAT SS26.

AB.0

HER Tunnel Walk reimagined sportswear through the lens of visibility, strength, and representation. By incorporating reclaimed materials and vintage textiles, AB.0 created a collection that celebrated women in sport while drawing attention to stories that are often overlooked.

Anmol Handa Atelier

With IMPACT, Anmol Handa Atelier explored resilience as a catalyst for growth. Vibrant colour, intricate hand embellishment, and sculptural eveningwear transformed the runway into a study of perseverance, confidence, and personal evolution.

NARCES

NARCES Fall 2026 offered one of the week’s most refined explorations of transparency and structure. Layers of tulle, crystal embroidery, and sculptural appliqué created garments that felt simultaneously delicate and powerful. Blurring the boundaries between bridal and eveningwear, the collection balanced romance with architectural precision.

Authentic Roz’

In Third Space, Authentic Roz’ examined identity shaped by multiple cultural influences. Structured tailoring met fluid silhouettes in a collection that drew from Eastern references, Brazilian vibrancy, and contemporary urban life, creating a thoughtful conversation about belonging and self-definition.

LIN

Few collections felt as psychologically charged as Love for a Lost Soul. Inspired by the concept of solipsism, LIN explored themes of isolation, longing, and self-perception through garments that balanced softness with a subtle sense of unease.

ROMARØ

With Élyor, ROMARØ transformed the runway into a dialogue between fashion and architecture. Inspired by Persian design traditions and sacred geometry, the collection combined sculptural forms, intricate construction, and rich symbolism to create pieces that felt closer to wearable art than conventional couture.

SCYSSOR

What Remains examined the tension between freedom and restraint. Flowing fabrics, controlled draping, and harness-inspired details created a visual contrast between vulnerability and strength, resulting in a collection that felt both emotionally charged and highly wearable.

MAYER

Known primarily for menswear, MAYER surprised audiences this season by introducing womenswear looks into the presentation. The addition expanded the brand’s creative vocabulary and hinted at an exciting new direction for its evolving identity.

Siyawareva

In MON ABRI SECRET, Siyawareva looked to the idea of a personal sanctuary. Inspired by the symbolism of the Egyptian blue lotus, the collection paired fluid silhouettes with softened tailoring and a palette of natural tones, creating an atmosphere of calm confidence and quiet elegance.

ReeCreeations

Among the season’s most moving presentations was Moonlit Resilience by ReeCreeations. Dedicated to the women who raised designer Agnes Yellow Bear, the collection reflected on strength, dignity, and beauty passed down through generations. Through deeply personal storytelling and thoughtful craftsmanship, the presentation offered a powerful tribute to Indigenous identity, memory, and cultural continuity.

As another season comes to a close, FAT SS26 reaffirmed Fashion Art Toronto’s role as one of Canada’s most important platforms for emerging and established designers alike.
