In just two days, Toronto’s annual film festival will transform the city into an immersive celebration of cinematic art, creativity, and culture. Founded in 1976, TIFF is far more than a traditional film showcase; it is recognized internationally as a premier hub for media entertainment and innovation.

From September 10–20, the festival ignites the fall movie season, pushing the boundaries of cinema from biting comedies to gripping documentaries. Fanning Toronto’s deep-seeded passion for film, TIFF returns for its 51st edition, headlining 2026’s most anticipated titles—including Alpha Gang, Babies, Always Lisa, Being Heumann, and Bleeding Hearts. The showcase spotlights Canadian films, featuring traditional filmmaking and contemporary elements to illuminate each film’s cultural impact and diverse perspectives.

Each year, the festival welcomes the public alongside global industry professionals, Canadian artists, and pioneering filmmakers. The 11-day showcase honours both domestic and international creatives, particularly emerging talents whose visionary work establishes TIFF as the future of film. Drawing on artistry, originality, and profound cultural resonance, the lineup consists of films from festivals around the globe.
