Made With Intention Brings Sustainable Fashion and Purpose to NYFW

Made With Intention: A Future Worth Wearing arrives during New York Fashion Week with an immersive program bringing together sustainable fashion, industry conversations, interactive brand experiences, and a runway show.

As New York Fashion Week turns the city into a meeting point for designers, creatives, and industry professionals, Made With Intention: A Future Worth Wearing is creating space for another side of the fashion conversation — one centered on responsibility, sustainability, and the future of the industry.

Presented by 99 YARDS, Inside Fashion Design, and Mind Your Fashion, the event will bring together designers, entrepreneurs, sustainability leaders, and fashion professionals for an immersive experience combining education, networking, brand discovery, panel discussions, and fashion.

Rather than approaching sustainability as a single topic, Made With Intention explores it across the fashion ecosystem — from sourcing and business growth to circular design, textile waste, responsible production, and environmental impact.

Where Fashion Meets Responsibility

The program begins with Sourcing, Selling, Sustainability & Scaling, a ticketed seminar led by internationally recognized fashion expert Jude Kingston.

Drawing on more than 30 years of industry experience, Kingston will explore the practical side of building a fashion business designed to last. The session will cover sourcing strategies that balance quality, profitability, and sustainability; wholesale, e-commerce, and direct-to-consumer sales; brand transparency; and approaches to scaling a fashion business responsibly.

The evening will then shift into a more immersive format, with networking, live music, food and drinks alongside a series of interactive brand and environmental activations.

Among them, TENSENGRAL will introduce its zero-waste braiding approach, while Zipel NYC will demonstrate live upcycling by transforming existing materials into new fashion pieces. ZVEZDEA will present A Tale of Two Worlds, connecting fashion, culture, and conscious design.

Environmental advocate and solo ocean rower Denis Gorbylev will also present Rowing for Life, an installation incorporating plastic and marine debris he personally recovered while crossing the ocean. The project brings the realities of ocean pollution into the fashion conversation, connecting environmental responsibility with the broader themes of the event

Threads of Change

At the center of the program is Threads of Change, a two-part panel examining how fashion can move toward a more responsible future.

The first conversation, A Future Worth Wearing: Fashioning a Sustainable Future, will be moderated by circular-design and materials strategist Liz Alessi, whose career includes leadership experience with Limited Brands, Coach, Marc Jacobs, and Tapestry.

Joining her will be sustainability strategist Peter McLaughlin, entrepreneur and sustainable-fashion advocate Kesi Gibson, and Bridgett Artise, designer and founder of Sustainable Fashion Week. Together, the panel will explore responsible design, ethical sourcing, circular business models, and the potential for fashion to create meaningful environmental and social impact.

The conversation will continue with From Waste to Worth: Closing Fashion’s Loop, focusing specifically on fashion and textile waste.

Moderated by fashion-business consultant and designer YAY Yushkova, the discussion will feature Denis Gorbylev and Jennifer Wang, CEO of Full Cycle Resource Consulting and a researcher focused on textile reuse and circularity. Topics will range from ocean pollution and upcycling to global clothing reuse and the systems required to turn discarded materials into environmental and economic value.

Sustainability Takes the Runway

The evening will ultimately bring the conversation back to clothing itself with a Sustainable Fashion Show.

The runway lineup includes Marina Safina, TENSENGRAL, Barbara O’Donovan Design, Lady Lily, and Her and I The Label, bringing together designers whose work will form the fashion-focused conclusion to a day built around ideas, education, and industry exchange.

An official after-party will follow, creating another opportunity for designers, speakers, founders, and fashion professionals to connect.

A Future Worth Wearing

As conversations around sustainability continue to reshape the fashion industry, Made With Intention positions those discussions alongside the creativity and energy of New York Fashion Week.

By bringing business education, environmental awareness, circularity, emerging ideas, and runway fashion into the same space, the event asks a question that extends beyond a single season: what does it take to create a fashion industry that is not only worth watching, but worth carrying into the future?

For an industry built around what comes next, A Future Worth Wearing offers an opportunity to consider not only what the future of fashion will look like — but how it will be made.
