A Glimpse of Kazakhstan’s World Designers Fashion Week

World Designers Fashion Week is an international platform that brings together designers, industry professionals, and creative talent from across the world. Hosted in Shymkent, Kazakhstan, the event showcased 46 designers representing 20 countries, each bringing distinct cultural influences to the runway.
Founded by Timur Tursunkulov, the event serves as a cultural bridge, creating opportunities for collaboration, exposure, and creative exchange within the international fashion industry. Beyond the runway shows, the program also included networking sessions, professional forums, and industry discussions designed to strengthen cross-cultural connections.

The runway presentations offered diverse perspectives from designers drawing inspiration from their heritage, traditions, and personal experiences. Designers such as Fabio Parliod from Italy, Yerlan Zholdasbek from Kazakhstan, and Daphne’s Couture from Spain reflected this international spirit through collections that balanced cultural identity with contemporary fashion trends.
Flowing embroidered gowns, sharply tailored silhouettes, handcrafted embellishments, and modern couture details highlighted the intersection of traditional craftsmanship and modern design influences. The collections ranged from heritage-inspired garments to contemporary eveningwear, demonstrating how fashion continues to serve as a universal language across cultures.

To celebrate excellence, the event concluded with an awards ceremony honouring the achievements of participating designers. Members of the World Association of Designers board were also recognized for their contributions to both the show and the broader fashion industry.
