IRA LANGEVIN Unveils “Origami: 14 Fortunes” at Fashion Vibes in Milan

Architectural white couture inspired by sacred Japanese origami, destiny, and feminine consciousness at Milan Women’s Fashion Week FW 2026–2027

One of the most conceptual designers joining Fashion Vibes on February 28 is IRA LANGEVIN, the House of contemporary fashion art known for its poetic approach to couture. As part of Milan Women’s Fashion Week FW 2026–2027, the brand will present its capsule collection “ORIGAMI: 14 FORTUNES” — an architectural series of white gowns inspired by sacred Japanese origami traditions and ancient legends of fortune.

Conceived as a poetic narrative expressed through fashion, the collection transforms folded fabric into a symbolic language of destiny, inner strength, and feminine consciousness. Each piece explores the purity of form, the silence of color, and the depth of meaning — positioning couture not as decoration, but as an emotional and philosophical statement.

Architectural silhouettes, sculptural volumes, and rhythmic folds become metaphors for personal journeys, life choices, and inner states. The collection draws inspiration from sacred paper elements found in Japanese temples, the legend of a thousand paper cranes, and the symbolic image of the bird as a bearer of fate and hope.

The concept unfolds through an original pantheon of 14 Fortunes, where each dress represents a distinct archetype — from the fragile first moment of luck to the “Zero Fortune,” a state of absolute potential. Drapery becomes a threshold between outer appearance and a woman’s inner world, creating garments that feel contemplative, powerful, and deeply personal.

Crafted from hand-woven ecological white cotton treated to resemble paper, the collection is enriched with transparent silks and innovative man-made materials developed in collaboration with Italian mills. Complex hand draping, hidden structural techniques, and refined couture craftsmanship support sculptural forms while maintaining lightness and fluidity. The absence of color and print is a deliberate choice, allowing form and silence to become the central protagonists of this chapter of the House.

“For me, ORIGAMI is not a game with paper, but a quiet conversation about destiny. In temples, folded paper separates the sacred from the ordinary. In my dresses, the folds do the same: they outline a space around a woman where she can be honest with herself. ‘14 Fortunes’ are fourteen ways to say: ‘I am lucky to be myself,”  says Ira Langevin, founder and designer of the House.
