TIFF 2025: Red-Carpet Fashion That Already Stole the Show

Toronto’s 50th anniversary edition of the Toronto International Film Festival is nearing its finale on September 14, but the past week has already given us plenty of unforgettable fashion moments. TIFF has once again proven that it’s not only about cinema, but also about red-carpet glamour and daring style.

On the red carpet, the stars dazzled in breathtaking looks. Sydney Sweeney became the undeniable center of attention in a pale pink corset gown, Angelina Jolie embodied elegance in a chocolate-toned coat dress by Gabriela Hearst, and Mila Kunis enchanted the crowd in a delicate white ensemble.

The men brought just as much presence and creativity. Ryan Reynolds, arriving with Colin Hanks in a replica car from the cult comedy Planes, Trains and Automobiles, made headlines with one of the most original entrances of the festival. Reynolds himself wore a brown corduroy suit layered over a white T-shirt emblazoned with a maple leaf and the word Canada — a bold and symbolic gesture. Matthew McConaughey created one of TIFF’s most heartwarming moments by appearing alongside his son. Channing Tatum opted for timeless elegance in a gray pinstripe suit, while Cillian Murphy remained true to minimalist chic in sleek black velvet. Keanu Reeves, as always, charmed fans with his effortless charisma in a laid-back total black look.

And with just a few days left, the anticipation is still high. TIFF is known for saving some of its biggest surprises for the final stretch — from world premieres to last-minute red-carpet highlights that could redefine this year’s style narrative.

This year’s program itself has been monumental: 291 films from across the globe, including 209 feature films, 6 restored classics, 10 television series in the Primetime section, and 66 short films. But beyond the numbers, TIFF 2025 will be remembered for the way it celebrated both cinema and fashion, turning King Street into a pedestrian runway where fans and stars share the spotlight.

As the festival prepares to close its golden jubilee, one thing is certain: TIFF 2025 has already set the bar high, blending film and fashion into an unforgettable cultural moment.
