Vancouver Fashion Week Returns with a Global FW26 Lineup
Over 40 designers from more than 10 countries descend on Vancouver this April for five days of runway, culture, and craft.
For over two decades,Vancouver Fashion Week (VFW) has built its own place in the global fashion calendar — not through exclusivity, but through a genuine openness to creative diversity. The FW26 season, running April 8 to 12, continues that path with designers from Japan, Korea, Canada, and beyond gathering under one roof at David Lam Hall in the heart of the Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Vancouver.
Leading the international lineup is Japan’s aim/aimme (Sankei Studio), whose work channels the quiet precision of Japanese craftsmanship into contemporary silhouettes. Joining them are fellow Japanese talents Manami Suzuki (Pratolina) and Yuko Nishiyama (Teori Kobo Oriiro), alongside Korea’s BLUETAMBURIN — each bringing a distinct perspective that bridges heritage technique with modern design thinking. Vancouver Community College (VCC) will also present a student showcase, offering the next generation of Canadian designers their moment on the runway.
On the local front, the season reflects the depth and range of Canadian fashion. ALEX S. YU and Eduardo Ramos present refined, considered collections at opposite ends of the aesthetic spectrum, while Augusta Fashion & Textiles (Maria Augusta) brings couture-level craft to the fore. Ay Lelum speaks the language of Indigenous design and cultural memory — and it is precisely this that gives the whole program its distinct character and depth. Bahar Kianpour and Jumper Zhang charge the runway with fresh, bold energy, while Richard Wei closes the lineup with collections that explore themes of identity and belonging.
“At Vancouver Fashion Week, diversity is our greatest strength. We bring together the most incredible design talent from across Canada and the wider world, presenting the most forward-thinking creative concepts to the industry. Fashion is a truly global phenomenon, and it’s inspiring to see such a strong mix of designers all under one roof here in Vancouver.” — Jamal Abdourahman, Founder, Vancouver Fashion Week
Together, the FW26 program is fashion as cultural dialogue — where Canadian voices and international perspectives share the same space. Attendees can expect collections ranging from avant-garde conceptual work to refined minimalism and timeless tailoring across five immersive days on the runway.
